What is Auto Files? Auto Files allows you to automate a variety of tasks on your computer. It runs from your system tray and provides the graphical equivalent of a batch programming language to define the details of jobs you want to automate. A point-and-click, wizard-style interface allows you to choose from a wide range of actions. These actions, which are all handled internally by Auto Files, include FTP, email, zipped backups, printing, message display, window manipulation, and send keys. Of course, you can also select external programs to run. Events can be scheduled with a timer, launched with a hotkey, or set to run when specific system changes trigger the event. Other features include logging support and the ability to define custom variables. Auto Files is capable, easy to use, and includes a number of examples to help get you started.

About Ping Monitor

Ping Monitor is intended to determinate the speed of data transmission between your computer connected to Internet/Intranet and remote host. It's a good replacement of standard console utility ping.exe, distributed with Windows 95/98/NT/2000. If you don't aware of this utility, try to execute (Start/Run) this command: ping www.microsoft.com - you will get the information about packets transmission speed between your computer and www.microsoft.com host. Ping Monitor also has following additional features:

Besides the time needed last request to be returned, the program will show you the number of emitted requests, returned request, and percentage between them, the highest, lowest and average time needed requests to be returned;
Ping more than one host at the same time, whereas using the ping.exe you need to run several copies of it to do this;
Ping the remote host in specified time intervals to reduce the overall network traffic, unlike ping.exe, which will send new request immediately after return of previous one;
Will draw up a ping protocol inclusive: ping start time, ping finish time, time when remote host stop or resume responding, errors, etc;
Minimize in system tray, not hindering your work, and positioning the mouse pointer on the icon in system tray, you will get helpful information;
User-friendly easy to understand interface.

Adding a ping

To add a new ping press <Ins> key or select Ping/Add in the Main menu. The dialog with the following settings appear:

Host - remote host name or IP address.
For example: www.microsoft.com or 192.168.1.1.
Note: IP address 127.0.0.1 (or localhost) is your own computer;
Delay - time intervals in seconds, used to send the new request;
Timeout - if no request will be returned during this time, the program will send a new one. Usually this value is greater or equal to Delay;
Write log - if you check this option, the program will draw up a report for this ping. Then you could review the report using this program, or any other text editor, like Notepad. Report will be saved in the file named <host>.log.
